The Lucy Loft & Company was started by a lifelong member of the Decatur community. Melverta Wilkins and her large family has been a part of Decatur for a long time. Having raised two children in this community and now having three grandchildren, Melverta embraces the large family and large sense of community feeling and is transpiring that feeling into The Lucy Loft & Company.

Melverta has shown her passion for helping others when she first started Sista Girls & Friends in 2013 for the empowerment of women and girls in the area. Sista Girls & Friends encourages and strengthens the skills and talents of young girls and women through programs, coaching and guidance. In addition to Sista Girls & Friends, the passion Melverta has for her community is now being poured into her The Lucy Loft & Company. She recognized a need for a space that is unique to this area, while also having a place to call home for Sista Girls & Friends. Melverta is excited to provide an entertaining, inviting space that offers something unique to the Decatur area. Melverta looks forward to also throwing some events that will be open to the public. This gives the ability for future clients to come take a look at the loft before they decide to book with The Lucy Loft & Company.
